stairs_calculations

Stairs are 7'8“ for a riser. Calculate how many you'll need for the vertical distance.

Then do 10-11” for each tread to find out how long your stairs are.

Let's assume 8' ceilings and 2' for joists. 10'. 120“.

divide by 8”, is 15. So we'll have 15 steps, with the last step being the upper floor.

So, 14 * 11“, is 154”, or 12.8'. Roughly 13“ of stairs horizontal distance needed.
